The Brief

Apollo needed a cafeteria that could serve a high volume of staff and visitors throughout the day without feeling like a canteen — a space built for durability and quick turnover, but with genuine warmth overhead and underfoot instead of a purely functional, institutional finish.

What We Did

The standout move was a geometric, herringbone-patterned wood-clad ceiling that runs across the entire hall, broken up by a clean recessed-panel lighting strip down the centre. Brass pendant lights were dropped at intervals to bring warmth closer to table height, paired with durable stone-topped tables and a mix of moulded chairs chosen for easy upkeep at scale. Exposed brick on one wall and hanging greenery soften the space, a wood-panelled half-wall keeps the seating zoned without closing it off, and a dedicated billing counter was built into the layout to keep the flow of guests moving smoothly. The full fit-out ran from mid-November 2024 through to handover on 27 January 2025.
